Culturally Sensitive Care for Chinese Patients Study

**We are seeking physicians who fit one or more of the following criteria:

- General practice or community physicians working with >50% ethnic Chinese patients 

- Specialists working with >25% ethnic Chinese patients 

- Physicians trained outside of the United States and seeing >25% ethnic Chinese patients

Purpose: The "Culturally Sensitive Care for Chinese Study" aims to determine how to provide culturally sensitive and optimal care for ethnic Chinese diaspora patients in practice.

Goals"

- To identify key cultural aspects of Chinese culture that are important to keep in mind when caring for ethnic Chinese patients, from a physician perspective

- To elucidate manners in which 1) the health manifestations and 2) the preferred and effective treatments of ethnic Chinese patients differ from Western patients

- To identify, spread awareness of, and promote the integration of strategies tailored to provide better healthcare for ethnic Chinese patients


Process

The CMIG will conduct background research about the interviewee and use this information to draft tailored interview questions. The interview itself will be conducted virtually and audio-recorded, with the interviewee’s permission. Interviews are expected to last between 20-60 minutes. Responses to the interview may be published in the form(s) of a newsletter, website post, and/or academic manuscript.
